Where can I find out more information about Penn State and Penn State students?
A rich source of data about Penn State students is the Educational Planning Survey. All new students are asked to complete this survey, which includes questions about the student's background and interests. It was developed by the Division of Undergraduate Studies to facilitate students' educational development and is used in establishing programs to foster effective academic advising.
What should I do on the first day of class?
"The First Day of Class" from our book, The Penn State Teacher II, shares some practical advice for teachers who may be feeling some first-day jitters.
How can I prevent classroom management problems?
See appendix A, "Managing the Classroom and Relating to Students" (from The Penn State Teacher II) which offers tips for managing the classroom, dealing with disruptive students, helping students with personal problems, and other related issues.
Where can I find out more about Penn State policies and procedures regarding teaching?
The Academic and Administrative Policies and Procedures Manual answers questions on issues such as grading and course scheduling.
