Teaching Enrichment Travel Grant
This grant gives Penn State faculty members the opportunity to attend conferences to disseminate findings on the impact of course changes on student learning. Please contact Dr. Jill Lane at (814) 863-2599 or email site@psu.edu if you have questions about your eligibility.
Guidelines for 2007-2008
Application Requirements:
- Faculty members from any Penn State campus are eligible to apply once each fiscal year (July 1 through June 30) for funding up to $500
- 100% matching funds from your department, school, or college
- An e-mail from your administrative chair to site@psu.edu confirming your department, division, or college's matching support
- New Requirement for 2007-2008 Funding Cycle:
- In order to encourage dissemination of findings from teaching-related changes within Penn State, all faculty members receiving travel funds are required to deliver their presentation to a Penn State audience. Note: current and/or future participation in the travel grant program may be jeopardized if you are unable to fulfill this commitment.
- Prior to settling your travel expenses, please contact Abbey Picketts within three weeks of your return from travel to schedule a date for your presentation.
Application Procedure:
After you have received your acceptance to present at a conference:
- Submit your application
- E-mail a copy of your presentation acceptance and the presentation abstract to site@psu.edu
- Applications are available for online submission or they may be printed and mailed to:

Application Deadlines:
Please submit your application so that it arrives at the Institute at least two weeks before your expected travel.
- Cycle 1: Applications for travel between June 1 and December 15 will be accepted from May 21 to November 30 (expenses for travel in June will be processed after July 1).
- Cycle 2: Applications for travel between December 16 and May 31 will be accepted from December 1 through May 18. We are now accepting applications for this cycle.
Selection Procedure:
We evaluate your proposal with respect to the purpose of this call and whether or not it includes the required 100% matching funds from your department, school, college, or other applicable administrative unit. Awarding of the grant will occur within two weeks of our receipt of your completed proposal submission. You are responsible for making your own travel arrangements.

When traveling to disseminate findings from a teaching/learning innovation, we ask that you acknowledge the Institute's support (i.e., Travel for dissemination of these findings is supported in part by a Teaching Enrichment Travel Grant from the Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence.).
