- eliminates answer key errors associated with hand-constructed keys
- multiple versions can be created by scrambling questions, responses or both
Method:

if not already in our system for the semester
- define a database structure and establish a password for protected files
- construct your tests
- list the questions in a properly formatted Word document
- send the Word document as an attachment in an email message to Sheila Rockey
- In the email, please include:
- Instructor's name
- Course number and section
- Number of exam questions
- Number of exam versions
- Type of scrambling requested (items, responses, or both)
Sheila requires a three day lead time so she can create and deliver your exam when you need it. After each test is created, you will receive a password-protected copy of each test version (form) as a PDF file which you can then duplicate for your test. As part of the test construction process, we create a set of records that are used in our scanning operation. These records contain the keys for each test version (form) as well as information describing how to unscramble the questions. An added benefit of this service is the creation of one item analysis that combines questions from all versions (forms).
Upon completion of the exam, please deliver the students' answer sheets to us in 105 Pollock Building for scanning, analyzing, and reporting. You will complete a job request form as usual, but will not need to create a key or unscramble form.
