Biographical Information

Jessica is a doctoral candidate in Curriculum & Instruction with a minor in Comparative &International Education. Her dissertation research investigates how faculty members in higher education conceptualize service-learning for the purpose of transformational outcomes. 

Jessica has served on the Penn State Student  Engagement and Service-Learning Task Force, coordinated Penn State interdepartmental and cross-cultural partnerships and conducted community assessments of service learning, both here in Pennsylvania and abroad. She is the recipient of the College of Education 2012 Dissertation Initiation Research Grant and the “On the Spot” Outreach Award for civic engagement at Penn State.

Jessica thoroughly enjoys working as a Graduate Consultant at the Schreyer Institute where she can put her 10+ years of teaching to use to support other educators. She especially enjoys helping instructors fine-tune course objectives and align objectives with assessments. She also enjoys helping other graduate students develop their teaching philosophies to prepare for the job market.
