Biographical Information
Ondrej Mitas is a doctoral candidate of Recreation, Park and Tourism Management at Penn State. He has taught RPTM 120, Leisure and Human Behavior, as well as RPTM 433W, Research Methods and Program Evaluations, as well as grading for sections of RPTM 277, Recreation for People with Disabilities, and RPTM 356, Recreation Programming.
His methods of instruction combine discussion, popular media, and in- depth analysis of problems generated by students.
In his research, Ondrej is interested in variables of leisure behavior, especially tourism, that affect quality of life. His work synthesizes current knowledge in the field of positive psychology and applies it to gain insight into the visual and emotional experience of tourism.
His dissertation research is supported by a grant from Tourism Cares.
Ondrej has a Master of Science in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management (2007) and a Bachelor of Arts in Arts Applications (2005) from North Carolina State University, where he earned two Undergraduate Research Grants.
