Stéphanie is a Ph.D. student in the Department of French and Francophone Studies, with a concentration in Applied Linguistics. A native of France, she holds a maitrise in law from the Université de Paris-ASSAS as well as a M.A. degree in foreign language and literature and a graduate certificate in translation from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She has taught many french classes at UWM, Penn State and at the Middlebury-Monterey Language Academy. She also worked as a translator in a Chicago-based company for three years. Her research interests are in french sociolinguistics and Second Language Development and Internet-Mediated Communication.
