Dr. Weinstein joined the teaching and learning support community at
Penn State in 2002 as an assessment specialist. Since then, she has
focused her attention on providing evidence for the impact of classroom
innovations on student learning and perceptions. She has also worked on
several projects designed to assess student experiences outside of the
traditional classroom. Her assessment experience ranges from single
courses to multi-course projects. Along the way she has developed
expertise in many of the areas where assessment interacts with other
aspects of teaching and learning to improve student experience.
Dr. Weinstein received her Ph.D. in psychology, with an emphasis in
psychobiology, from The Pennsylvania State University. Her research
emphasizes how control modulates the impact of the stress response on
cardiovascular functioning.
Dr. Weinstein holds a courtesy appointment in the department of
psychology and has most recently taught “The Psychology of Fear and
Stress” to upper level students in psychology and biology.
