Teaching Communities are supported over multiple years in a phased model.
Launch Phase
New group
Goals and purpose are developing
It may be experimental year, no minimum membership required
Deliverables will be a summary containing initial insights
(e.g., what gaps does your community fill, what other opportunities exist, etc.)
Establish Phase (year 2 and 3)
Clear purpose
Stable and/or increasing membership
Regular meetings
Community will share takeaways with peers outside of the immediate group
Transition Phase (year 4)
Highly functioning
Stable membership
Determine group's future direction and leadership.
Takeaways or resources are shared through participation in SITE and/or University events (e.g., panels, presentations,
website summaries etc.) to benefit the broader teaching community at Penn State
